Colamussi, 62, of Huntington, is running on the Republican, Conservative and Libertarian party lines. This is her first run for office. She works as a deputy in the town clerk’s office.

Policies:
  • Colamussi said there is a need for satellite payment locations in different areas of town to make payment more convenient and help with the poor parking situation at town hall.
  • She said she will use technology currently in place to its fullest potential to expedite deposits, decrease long lines and accrue interest.
  • She said there’s a need for a Spanish-speaking staff member in the office. She said currently a town employee has to be called from another department to translate.

Guthman, 49, of Melville, is running on the Democratic, Independence and Working Families party lines. She is seeking her first full four-year term. She was appointed in December 2017 and ran for the final year of the expired term in 2018.

Policies:
  • Guthman says she is committed to providing residents with top-caliber customer service, making sure the experience of paying taxes is pleasurable and as efficient as possible.
  • She said it’s important to her to disseminate critical information to residents, such as “making sure our residents are aware of the tax exemptions they might be eligible for.”
  • She said she can use her experience and perspective as a former Suffolk County assistant district attorney, where she prosecuted cases involving theft and fraud to reduce the town’s risk of loss.
