- Hamdani said taxes are too high and that there is a lack of affordability. She said apartments are expensive, and there are no high-paying jobs, making it difficult for millennials to stay on Long Island.
- She said people are complaining about potholes and more needs to be spent on roads.
- Hamdani said recycling has become a problem. She’s pushing for same day trash and recycling pickup instead of alternative days.

Kevin J. LaValle (Incumbent)

LaValle, 42, is running on the Republican, Conservative and Independence party lines. He is seeking his fourth term. The term is four years.
Policies:
- LaValle said he would continue promoting economic development to foster jobs and expand the tax base and to decrease the tax burden on property owners.
- He wants to continue focusing on quality of life issues to increase property values and clean up neighborhoods.
- LaValle would focus on helping to balance a budget under the tax cap and also provide the necessary services residents need.
