Sarah S. Anker (Incumbent)

Anker, 55, is running on the Democratic, Working Families and Independence party lines. She is seeking her fifth two-year term.
Policies:
- Anker says she is “working on all fronts of the addiction crisis, including prevention, rehabilitation and law enforcement.”
- She said she partners with residents and police to identify and address crime and traffic issues.
- Anker said she supports legislation that protects groundwater by preserving open space, increasing penalties for illegal dumping and prioritizing the remediation of environmental contamination.

James J. Kevins Jr.

CONSERVATIVE
Kevins, 68, is running on the Conservative line. He is seeking to unseat the incumbent for a two-year term.
Policies:
- His top issues are to lower county spending, stop deficit spending and reduce borrowing.
- If elected, he also wants to examine whether to eliminate the county Legislature and go back to a Board of Supervisors.
Republican, Libertarian
Gary D. Pollakusky
Background:
REPUBLICAN
Pollakusky, 43, is running on the Republican and Libertarian party lines. He is seeking to unseat the incumbent for a two-year term.
Policies:
- He said he will cut taxes for residents of Suffolk County and prevent fraud, waste and abuse at the expense of taxpayers.
- He wants to promote economic growth and jobs by supporting business in the county.
- He says he will protect our water, soil and air from contamination and pollution while stopping the county practice of raiding our water and sewer funds, and will provide resources to combat the opioid epidemic.
